1st Spark: Alexy Khrabrov hosts the first Apache Spark meetup talk by Matei at Scala for Startups

On 12/12, Alexy Khrabrov hosted the very first talk by Matei Zaharia at the Scala for Startups meetup at Klout. Alexy founded Scala for Startups and then merged it with SF Scala to build the biggest Scala meetup in the world. After hosting Matei, Alexy proposed establishing a new meetup, Bay Area Spark Meetup, which they cofounded together. In this meetup, Klout engineer Derek Wollenstein presented Klout's use of Scala and Spark, notably the Play framework. It's instructive to see the technology state of 15 years ago, what stayed strong, what changed, and what has grown exponentially, like Spark.
