1st Spark: Matei Zaharia introduces Spark and RDDs at Scala for Startups hosted by Alexy Khrabrov

On 12/12/2011, Alexy Khrabrov hosted the very first talk by Matei Zaharia at the Scala for Startups meetup at Klout. Alexy founded Scala for Startups and later merged it with SF Scala to build the world's largest Scala meetup. After hosting Matei, Alexy proposed establishing a new meetup, the Bay Area Spark Meetup, which they co-founded. Here, Matei goes into the engineering design and motivation for Spark: dataflow architectures, RDDs, and other core concepts that made it successful.
