my name is Vladimir kostikova I work at her as a senior software engineer all right I would say that one of the challenges that we deal this is the fact that it's so and hard sometimes and easy to reason about performance of the Scala code like basically enabled performance reasoning so especially we somehow deal with up within the team but it's really hard when it's come to educating the rest of the engineering group about those trade-offs in business we do have some internal trainings about that to be honest and they work pretty well but it's still a long way to go well Twitter is known to be the one of the examples when it comes to scaling problems in back in the years and again it's I think everybody knows this story is just like too many ap too many users too many requests and stuff like that and what helped is to be architecture our core technology and building something something called finagle and the rest of the tariqa system to actually help the dough with this kind of challenges and this kind of traffic patterns and things like that I personally think I'm not an expert at that area but I personally think that so what's challenging right now this rating woman is probably a dealing with storage especially when it comes into sorting some metrics like telemetry and stuff like that for internally it's not even for external users you know and being able to optimize those thing is being able to provide some tools around filtering and blacklists and things like that helps a lot in that sense [Music] functional programming benefited me well I met so many cool people in the community that you can learn a lot from and I'm super excited to well somehow being able to contribute back a little bit as much as I can and yeah I just think it's not it's just passionate people thinking about similar problems and thinking about similar approaches to that problem it's really inspiring my favorite is that it's probably because it's in Detroit building so I have to commute much [Music]
