yes I'm Paul Cleary I work for Comcast okay now I got you so I think I definitely think that one of the key challenges that we have at a larger scale is that we've traditionally run our own data centers and so we have this virtualized infrastructure oftentimes on OpenStack and then there's a lot of movement to the cloud and then there's also how does that interplay with this move to docker and things like open shift you know so it's a little bit about how do I build my application what platform should I run on and also if you're going to be running on multiple clouds or multiple runtime environments how do you how do you build your systems in such a way that they can accommodate private public cloud and also like you know you know a container I containers as a service so to speak I think especially our team we tend to even still treat a lot of the systems that we deploy as pets so we have large installations database installations and databases can be kind of tough to virtualize or docker eyes and so like managing large fleets of pets tends to be something that is very onerous from a from a n jobs perspective yeah I don't I don't know we I think that I mean we talked about scale and I talked a little bit about it this migration to like where some parts of the organization are deep down the docker path and some aren't right so how do you get everybody into a position of deploying on containers what things that should be deployed in containers and then the other thing is I think that we tend to undervalue ops a little bit we think that developers can do everything in this world and it's a little bit unfortunate because you know if you have thousands of VMs or thousands of containers out there especially in a heterogeneous environment it's kind of hard to manage I think the biggest value of functional functional programming specifically is is predictability in the code and an elimination of bugs at runtime right so I think I mean in a nutshell that's it it is hard for people coming from a low to kind of adjust their mindset but I think that you can immediately see the payoff in certain things especially the way that you write code and test code [Music] but there's more than one I think that the there's the space is awesome because I've been at conferences where there was no hallway track which is great I think that you have three different tracks so if I get there's there's things that I'm not I don't do like you know big data processing I don't do on a daily basis reactive programming so I can go into these other tracks which is awesome - and then I really love the happy hours that you guys have so [Music]
