[Music] hi I am Anya bata and I work for Salesforce I am a senior member of technical staff there I work as an SRE a site reliability engineer and I support the Einstein platform I to be honest the key issues now this is really it's my current company but generally I think that sometimes people get siloed into their area and sometimes we forget to do some cross training and so I get to know what other teams are doing so one way we address that actually at my company which is I think we do this really well we have social demos every Friday just really casual demos what you did for this week the last two weeks and sometimes they work sometimes they like crash and burn but it's all in great fun then there's a lot of clapping and a lot of just like there's a lot of music it's really an awesome day so social demos are a great way to like break down the silos I guess along the same lines so I work for I work on the DevOps side and again not just at my company but just in general in the field it seems like DevOps we're concerned about stability and the development teams in the data science teams they want to build and they want to build like crazy but if you want to scale you have to like um you got to meet those two goals together they've got to come together so so the teams that do this really well are the teams that they scale but they for example they use the resources that are absolutely needed for their awesome micro servants but not anymore than resources but not anymore resources that are needed so yeah I guess just coming together across teams and and unifying your goal [Music] to be honest the scale is a really broad question so I'm gonna take you to the really broad way we have not found all the geniuses that we need so scaling like the people on your team and that's it's a really it's an interesting search problem so actually one of the things that I love about scale by the bay is that it's accessible so I'm fortunate enough to work for a company that paid my registration that's going by the bay but I see a lot of volunteers around here that they're volunteering to work as dahshur or the the manager of the session and they they can come and interact and get in for free and I think that really makes the field more accessible um that actually I think helps to find all the geniuses that are hiding and that that are maybe prohibited from participating by the cost so that's one of the one of the most awesome things about scale by the way the other thing is that I feel like at this conference we're here to learn and share our knowledge we're not here to say I know everything and I'm the best like obviously nobody does but nobody's even pretending neither so it's a great place to share what you've learned and to make sure other people can you know cross that cross that hurdle with a little bit of an easier time you
