what up friends I'm Charles fry I teach people about how to build software systems that involve neural networks and at scale by the bay 2023 I'm going to be giving a talk called parallel processors past and future connections between llms and Os curdles where I'll be talking about some of the latest results in uh at the intersection of large language models SL artificial intelligence and the systems level of computing you can see some of the things I'm going to be talking about behind me uh mem GPT speculative decoding uh and the idea of software 3.0 and llms as Colonels supposed to give three reasons about why somebody would want to come and see this talk maybe one reason is you're a systems person you've heard all the excitement around llms and artificial intelligence in the last year and a half and you want to see how you might might be able to contribute how ideas from your field can can be brought to bear on the hard problems people are solving right now or you might be an ml person somebody like me who came from ml research originally uh and you want to see a little bit of you know what is all this stuff that's uh happened in the last year that comes from this systemy perspective I found it uh to be like a really cool unique perspective and lastly you might not fit in either of those categories you might just be somebody who's curious about uh this novel intersection uh this idea of using something like uh GPD 4 at the core of a Computing system as opposed to just as a chatbot I'm looking forward to sharing what I have learned with you and seeing you at scale by the Bay
