hi everybody my name is Alex Kish I'm a Staff software engineer at Tesla where I'm part of a team working on cloud services and infrastructure for Tesla's Energy Products this includes vehicle charging residential storage industrial storage participation in energy markets and virtual power plants I'm very excited to be speaking at scale by the bay this year my talk is titled pragmatic scalable and ergonomic cicd using GitHub actions and kubernetes in this talk I'll be covering how our team at Tesla migrated our CI and CD workloads from Jenkins to GitHub actions and how we increase the overall ergonomics productivity and scalability of our cicd system in a relatively pragmatic low effort fashion I think the top three reasons to attend my talk are first if you're just looking to get a better understanding for GitHub actions I'll be covering the basics as well as more advanced topics like reusable workflows composite actions caching and permissions second if you're if you're already using GitHub actions but you'd like a more scalable setup I'll be covering how we use open source software to deploy and automatically scale our GitHub actions workloads in kubernetes third if you're a scholar programmer or an SBT user I'll take some time to show how we've tuned and optimized our GitHub actions setup to maximize the performance and ergonomics for large scale Scala and SBT projects overall I think attendees will walk away with some practical ideas for improving their own cicd systems and I look forward to seeing you all there thank you
