my name is steuart Stewart I'm currently an independent contractor I've been a scholar developer for a decade I also do live coding so I'm also a twitch streamer or maybe like a YouTube streamer or is it's something I'm starting out on I use it for tooling on on maybe a day-to-day basis um so of course there is the obvious you GitHub co-pilot is is a is a great tool that's been getting better and better over time and even if you don't um use the specific ins and outs of it it it is a it is it is a nice to have there as a as a something that might occasionally give you good autoc completes but even then like the you know like like that the inline functionality and and the ability to query and and like have a discussion with the AI about your code uh can be very useful especially in a more exploratory problem solving context over next year I I I'm live streaming Scala side projects and and problem solving uh in particular this December I'm I'm live streaming every day Advent of code and and solving that in in Scala with worksheets you know on the topic of AI I should also mention I've taken to using open eyes open AI chat GPT on like a daily basis so I I frequently do queries I have it helped me with um with writing any kind of um topic I've used it for image generation and I've used it for just uh exploring ideas and and you know perhaps debating with myself or debating with the AI so it it helps me um it helps me think about not just programming not just code but it it helps me think about um about the world and then generate new ideas whether it's ideas of things to learn about things to think about or things to question myself about oh yeah I totally recommend it I I like the community around it and I like that is it's not so corporate as other conferences you can come in with you know quirky topics um you can view Quirk your topics or like interesting ideas that aren't driven just by marketing a product that you should use um and of course like it it's it's a very close- nut Community it's been going on for years I've been I've been to um every single inperson event since 2014 and I've haven't stopped doing it and I I probably won in the near future
