Recording: Scale By the Bay 2023: Interview with David Hall.
I'm David Hall I the uh research engineering lead at Stanford University's Center for research on Foundation models I uh actually work on building AI um uh models from scratch and building infrastructure to build them um so everything I do is AI all the time so I develop a training platform for building Foundation models like large language models uh called lavanture uh which um is a Jacks space code based for to make it easy for anyone to train large models if they have the compute uh some of the projects we're working on a Stanford include uh building clinical models that will help improve patient care and ease What's called the documentation burden uh for clinicians I really enjoyed Omar kab's talk about dspi uh I think it's a really promising approach to uh sort of evolving past prompt engineering uh for solving a lot of problems that people uh want to Sol use LS to solve yeah um Skip by the bay is a great conference with uh that covers a lot of really relevant topics in uh in uh computer science particularly around uh Ai and and scale um and it's a good place to meet new people and uh hear about all the cool things that people are working on uh
