I'm Chris Madison I head solution sales uh sales Solutions engineering training Partnerships all the goto Market functions at feron Technologies uh feron has an open source product called spin we're a serverless functions company powered by web assembly so we use AI in a bunch of different ways internally but the way part I'm most excited about in September we launched an AI inferencing service that integrates with our existing technology so now people that are building web assembly uh serverless functions can just do it lm. infer and then talk to code llama Lama 2 or embeddings model soon any custom models trying to make it super super easy affordable and very fast to use AI inferencing uh in any application that you're building so we are really excited to continue to mature uh web assembly and really focus on the next generation of how people build applications uh the piece I'm probably the most excited about is something called the component model uh a week ago on Friday we released a spin 2.0 that includes component model and this is going to change how people build applications you be able to then just take off the shelf uh a bunch of pieces of your application wire them together and have confidence that these things are compliant or secure fast all that without having to go build all that yourself evaluate libraries and you can do it in a polyot way across languages and then have your developers just focus on writing the core piece of your technology while taking advantage of all of these services and then run that anywhere you want we already have people running uh spin in our cloud in their own cloud kubernetes and open shift we have people running it on the edge you have somebody running in in a car like there's tons of places and go and if you have the power of the component model layered on top of this is going to make it easier and faster to build secure performant applications I really looking forward to well talk that just got cancelled uh let's see um Pete Hunt is going to be doing a talk uh later tomorrow I believe uh about um scaling uh some of the functions and based on the company's running today uh I'm really excited to go see what he's doing at this point scale by The Bays like it's a cool little conference here you know we have a million Tech conferences around here this really gives you the chance to come understand the community of tech that's here in the bay as we think about the larger more exciting applications so without bolting this on to you know it's aws's conference or somebody else's conference this is a Community Conference it has a community feel but one of the most impressive Tech communities in the whole world
