[Music] sure yeah I am Tekin jealous and I'm a principal AI signed as a target working in our supply chain AI Group yeah so this is actually the second time I've spoken in scale but it was Kayla by the bay I gave a talk last year and I could row the conference because one of my colleagues was presenting last year and suggested I apply yeah I think the the go ahead with my talk was to really help people get over the gap of understanding this abstract idea of functional reactive programming and so I'm just hoping that I gave people enough insight so that if they go on and try to use this and see maybe somewhat dense poorly motivated documentation they have enough of an idea to get over that right yeah so I'm working as part of our supply chain group and I've been focused on simulations so I help the system scale just partly by building an efficient system that provides a lot of operational data that people in the broader supply chain need to make decisions and then more concretely a lot of what I've done is just make the simulation substantially faster which went from having the simulation be a massive bottleneck for our entire system to the point where the raw simulation performance isn't really having any effect anymore other factors are by far the biggest bottlenecks yeah I think out of all the talks probably the one that I found the most interesting was the talk about unison which really introduces a different kind of programming paradigm that I find really fascinating I mean it's it's hard to say it's hard to predict the future but I think over the next year at Target we're really scaling up our supply chain system from a relatively small part of the total target supply chain to the whole thing and it's gonna be exciting to see you know what the difference is from developing a new system for a small subset of Target to really taking the system and making it work for this large enterprise with both large amounts of data and also kind of a large physical operation that we're working with [Music] right so I I definitely enjoyed some of the variety of talks here at scaled by the bay with you know the the three different tracks and the wide range of speakers and so I think like any the in terms of making the conference better would just be kind of doubling down on that and having you know wider range of different kinds of speakers at different levels of experience different backgrounds and different kinds of areas of focus [Music]
