[Music] my name is Shawn mcpaul Cara I'm a PhD student at Stanford and I'm studying big data systems [Music] it is I heard about it from my advisor yeah he's pretty involved in in the Big Data stuff so yeah my favorite part is definitely the aspects that have to do with targeting new kinds of hardware so I think it's pretty difficult for these data systems to target new hardware and I think our system is a nice kind of intermediary that allows you know vendors to kind of target it and then for developers that use higher level technologies such as Python to access that that new technology I really enjoyed the Delta Lake talk I thought it was I was pretty impressive that you can get those kinds of properties on a blob store like s3 yeah so we're making a huge push to basically getting weld and some other projects that are thematically similar to gain more traction in the open source space basically improving at in terms of usability going out and giving talks like this to kind of advertise it so yeah basically just improving it improving the open-source release and getting people to use it [Music] favorite part is definitely the talks they've been extremely high-quality I've learned a lot I also met some great people so yeah I don't really have any any concrete feedback it's pretty fun [Music]
