[Music] I'm Richard Whalen I work at m1 Finance in Chicago and I'm a lead data engineer [Music] I think I I followed Alexi on Twitter and also I just see tons of people I respect speaking at this conference okay at the part I really have the most like sentimental attachment to is the first ten minutes are like a history of computing in like 1944 to 1949 and like John von Neumann and like edvac and stuff like that and I'm I'm a history geek so I loves that stuff like that [Music] we don't use Scala native at m1 finance I do that on my own time as an open source contribution that said for us as a firm contributing to open source is a really important part of being part of the Scala community and then I also feel like the the parts of Scala native that I write about are good for pedagogy and good for training junior software engineers even if they're not actually gonna write Scala native at work I guess I'm a little frazzled from just coming off the stage and I'm struggling to think of one I'm excited about the panel this evening and I'm really psyched for job ADA's keynote tomorrow [Music] yeah so I am finishing up a book about Scala native and that's going into print probably in the next two months after two years of work so I'm really excited to have that yeah done in people's hands I mean it's a great venue it's a great well curated lineup I like that it's a little more independent and less vendor oriented it also just feels like it's just the right size conference it's not too many people it's not too few really just really great general vibe from all three of those factors I'd say [Music]
