you my name is Julian Soni I work for Spotify in circumcision I'm building a data framework called she'll that we use it's 45 for data processing so that's the default choice for anything data Persinger's 45 it's written in Scala and I want for a squad called Pat map squad and yes that's a pretty good thing to do I guess that's very cool so I like both the functional track and the data processing track obviously I've been interesting in functional programming for a few years now yeah I've been writing Scala for like eight years and obviously I'm working on data processing framework so I guess one of the things I want to share is with other skull developers is how you can leverage the type system to write better programs more robust programs and in some cases faster programs I'm actually helping to learn how the way that we use the scalar programming language is evolving over time because even the other language is 15 years old we're still discovering how we we can use it and what are the best way to use its videos every day I guess for me Scala was was sort of a gateway drug to more theater theoretical non concepts and and and also more academics programming languages so now I'm interesting things like eateries or actor I'm also looking into category theory type theory that kind of things I don't think I would have discovered that without Scala if I hadn't starting writing some shar programming eight years ago it's interesting too for me to chat with all the people that are actually contributing open source code to the sky community like people are writing for libraries like cats or with Martina jerski who created the language that's the best thing for me that I get to talk to them you
