my name is GA Ren I am a senior software engineer at iterable and I live in Oakland but our companies in San Francisco currently well I'm on the data and future team so we're building massive infrastructure for data at scale I'm currently working on a brand new type of data store and type of new data that has like a ton of applications we've made some pretty clever design choices that has has historically been pretty naggy so I'm pretty excited about that well once as I talked about the reactive I was in the reactive track for my talk I would say it's that but I'm interested in you know all three are not about how to pick our data what to look out for when you're building a data pipeline for data internet scale air handling it's super important to look out for so we we shared some I wouldn't call them best practices but they were best practices for a particular use case also you know how to process data in order at scale is probably important so we'll be sharing some best practices on how to do that too some cool functional programming things I would say we at the company interval we don't always we're not purely functional so we have some things that we do so it'd be nice to understand how to maybe use types monads more effectively in everyday programming I did change my life um my job so my livelihood is uh basically because I write code in Scala the next 15 years I hope that parallel programming becomes simpler for you know people who are new to writing code at the same time I hope that even though some of these concepts are abstracted away that people learn the things under the hood that power that enable these capabilities yeah I think like developers lives easier is how the next 15 years will go oh man a lot of my ex coworkers are here and my current co-workers so definitely those people I've also met some cool people at Scala days that I'm seeing again here so yeah I don't know if I'd pick one has God make some people upset I think don't piss anyone off [Music]
