so my name is Ivanka me I'm part of Twitter on to the University I'm an instructor here and I live in the South Bay in Cupertino so in fact I'm teaching so I would say you know in reading classes some around scholar the summer won national earnings but in a sense we are all engineering based on that's all for Twitter I think we are all they are interesting I like kind of you know the mix-and-match you know that they have the old brain different you know flavor to Scala the forming in general yeah hard to choose any others yeah legumes straight so but since I was in the functional right maybe I should say functional right so I talked about about how we teach Scala you know at Twitter so I think you know hopefully at bay I share some of the things that we do hopefully you know some is transferrable to other companies some maybe you know not so much but yeah bully I've done a good job in that [Music] I kind of like you know everything that is going on with detail processing so in fact before coming together I was machine learning instructor the follow that was fascinating one of the things that was great about Twitter was how we process data at scale and there's also quite a few interesting things about data processing in this conference so I'm hoping to learn more about that I'm not sure so functional farming have been practicing that a bit mostly some with over languages Scala is relatively new to me I kind of dabbled with it for a couple of years but it's only really by coming up to Twitter that I already got serious about it I think functional planning type of paradigm going to be more important with in engineering so you know if you think about you know state the kind of problems you know that we have I think there's a huge part that functional planning can bring the result some of the nasty software bug that we see in the industry scuse people I love everyone so but come off you know things I would say is the the culture of showing that we have people are not very are not shy to share you know their own experience and I think it's extremely interesting that makes the experience on this conference extremely rich
