you my name is Alexis ruse a war for Salesforce my title is director of data science and machine learning and I live in Palo Alto we built a few products focused on using activity there are communications there are two hands the effectiveness of salespeople so the first product we have is called email insights and it allows you know to identify in real-time important insights in your communication there are such as weather you know there's a pricing discussion where the competition is being involved and so forth and the second feature is essentially building a graph based on communication data to also improve you know connectivity searches feature like call recommend connection which allows us as people to connect to individuals that they don't know in companies where the organization's already connected to so for me data is the most exciting area i've been industry for over 20 years I've worked in data for the last seven I truly believed in other cliche that has the new old I think it's all about that iron all about eventually figure out what you can do with that data so I will be talking today's about using graph for context for machine learning I think if you look at machine learning in the future organizing the organs in knowledge will be very important for building more important systems and graph is certainly the ultimate data structure for that I am interested in looking at fox applying AI fcl it's still relatively new area there are a lot of challenges when it comes to tooling enabling that a society is going from research you know to production and there's still a lot to do in that space you so functional programming is an important aspect of dealing with data especially when dealing with data at scale you have to use a PI that where you use functional programming because you have to send the function to do that I know these are around because of scales so it's certainly an important construct and it's certainly important constructing building in oai applications I like the fact that it's a relatively small conference but still you know has a decent size and our all the people are very technical it's really developer centric you really get to meet people building and discussing about what they're building with a little marketing profit you
