you hi I'm Vladimir Beckman ski i'm founder of size bike we are a company that is doing three things we develop custom software for our clients mostly in the area of Internet of Things systems typically having a big data beckons highly scalable applications we also do consulting we work with large organizations and advise them on their software architecture and big data systems and we also do training and these days we are very active in the Scala training Scala acha and architecture for reactive systems I got involved in Scala in 2010 every Christmas I learned a new programming language so in 2010 it was a scholar stern ask allah immediately had a great appeal because i realized that i can be more productive i can write less code and i can also express myself better than with many of the other languages and i'm very happy to see that scala is getting such a tremendous adoption in organizations and the party we see that coming from the challenges of building highly scalable and reactive systems but the other side which is very important is Scala as the language for big data systems and efficient data processing [Music] so our ideal stack is going to provide applications ability to scale in a very linear fashion and at the same time we are going to have a high availability and also low latency that is very important for us because we are developing systems that are in the area of Internet of Things and increase demand for those is not to do the analytics after the events happened but we are supposed to provide advice and actionable intelligence as the events are unfolding often in a range in less than 10 milliseconds respond time so my ideal stack would have ability to handle a very large number of events that are coming from many sources we will be able to store this event but also sometimes we need to process defense even before they get stored so it will be a combination of different tools so one of the techniques that we see is a spark the other one is flink we are particularly attracted to fling because of the very low latency kafka seem to be a natural choice for storing the event streets and we use variety of no sequel and big data systems at the back end so in our system so far the choice is often enough on to Cassandra and MongoDB recently we have deployed the Silla DB with great success and in front of all of this so we use our framework which is called the actor which is interestingly an OG as framework but implementing actor model and it is a model which has a choreography as it model and a very low latency and extreme scale so I'm looking forward to meeting many people at this conference people are coming from variety of backgrounds we see as the skull is adopting it is very interesting for me to learn about new application areas where Scala has been used and exchange experiences and as the time progresses we see that these experiences are getting more annoyed reverse and I'm looking forward to hearing about all the interesting ways Scala has been used in organizations
