you so I'm Sergei Magnitsky I'm a software engineer at work day my jobin involves back back end server programming in Scala and a bit of machine learning [Music] first I was interested in Scala as I came to San Francisco there were so many meetups about scala i started to learn from the book there was a meetup that went through a book on scala functional programming in Scala and that's how I learned scholar I wanted to learn functional programming a long time ago i started with other programming languages but never scala since Scala is very popular here in the Bay Area at least I thought it would be a great great opportunity and I never regretted my ideal stack would be something reactive something that produces and consumes reactive data and also reactive on the front end ideal is like is unfortunately of what I have to work with at work we have a lot of legacy code which we are trying to move a little bit towards reactive at the moment we do use Scala for all new code but we have a bunch of legacy code that we just have to use and so front end is also legacy and we're not in control of that so my ideal is not quite the same but I know if I were to start a new project I know what I would do [Music] so there are a lot of talks about higher higher abstractions in functional programming and there are a lot of people who contributed to Scala compiler shapeless library scala Z and other such advanced libraries and I'd like to learn more about that because I haven't haven't had the opportunity to do that [Music] you
