you I'm Michael pill Quist I work at comcast where I'm a software architect specializing in security and cryptography yeah many many years ago we had a system that was very concurrent and was prone to some deadlocking so we started using actors got into scala through the standard library actors and eventually you know sort of fell in love with the functional side of scala and have since transitioned all development of the company at our organization of the company to stalin my ideal stack would be one of you know strong types and totality you know total functions avoiding any type of runtime errors those things have made the biggest difference in the quality of systems at scale and so yeah I mean just more of that would be would be great yeah you know it's super exciting to see what everybody's up to you know other library authors to see what ideas they have folks that are applying a lot of the functional libraries in into their own systems and seeing the types of challenges they're running into and what things are working for them and specifically I'm really excited for Rob Narses talk later and I was really happy to see John dakotas talk on Co free you [Music] you
