you I'm leaf wiklund I work for the rubicon project and I am a principal software engineer there I saw Scala and references on Twitter all the way back in 2009-2010 and was ready for something different than what I'd been doing so I started playing with that at home I gave it a try using some of the project euler exercises and found it really useful and then had a chance to work on a new project at my employer and was really successful with that and really enjoyed it and since then i have tried to use it in any project i can and have been able to use it in a whole bunch of things you know i have been extremely fortunate and that people have let me do roughly what i want for the last little while so i'm getting to use scala and spark and to process billions and billions of things a day and having a really good time doing it so I'm in a good place really well I really wanted to see the talk by Oscar at the same time as mine about the grand unification coming to scala with algebra and I course couldn't go to that so I'm looking forward to the video that I'll catch of that later you
