you hi I'm Joe Barnes I currently work at AOL as a back-end developer doing half the time Scala after time to end of ops and i'm a senior engineer there okay so i actually have had the pleasure of thanking martin order ski in person for given the free course on Coursera back in two thousand twelve the first edition of it and I have been doing Java for about seven half years j2ee always frustrated with bugs frustrated with trying to make working software and just got my mind blown by the language and started evangelizing it and switched jobs to where I can start using it every day well it depends on the problem you're solving right you know today i've been using like scholars ii stream a lot i'm really interested in FS 2 now that I'm more aware of its current state after watching Michael P let's talk about it but stack wise you know if I building a web app I'm a lift developer or lift committer and I love using lift I would certainly know that my talk was certainly about lift right now I decided doing web front end work so for us it's a lot of micro services and so but yeah we're trying to stick to the fewer peer FP you know use caps or scholars EU streams you know focus on composability and type safety and in that type of tool sets that are available well I kind of already spoiled that one the one I was looking forward to it was Michael pilke was talking about fs2 because I used strings for the first time just a few months ago they do to do analysis of data that I knew it was just too big to fit in memory at once and it worked beautifully was I love the composition and everything I'm really excited to see where this new library is going to go and try to improve on the ideas that were put forth in scalzi stream so yeah so I've already got to see the best one I was looking forward to I'm sure there's so much good ones coming but yeah it was already happened [Music]
