you my name is jason schwartz i work at class pass in san francisco in New York and I'm acting as a senior software engineer and architect right now oh well I got involved when I got a job at loyal 3 and learned on the job which was really difficult but I started going to meetup groups and meeting people and getting to know other people learning and after a year I started writing a book called learning Scala from o'reilly media which is really how I really learned the language as well having to research a book is a great weight having to research the language is the best way to learn the language will my ideal stack is going to be something which is strongly typed and something which is highly performant as no one likes to have slow performance for anything something which can be fully compiled and delivered in a small manner and something which allows me to use an expressive language like Scala so I don't have to do a lot of work to make sure I have a well-tested reasonable application oh that's a good well I'm looking forward to the netflix one today there's a great talk coming up on how they built a machine learning platform in Scala which is great because I'd love to learn more about machine learning and knowing that people are fully building this in Scala instead of more other languages which are more mathematical based more popular mathematicians sounds great in the fact that Netflix is building it means it's going to be ready for scale the very first time so I'm really looking forward to that talk today [Music] you
