you okay I'm jamee Greer director of applications engineering and data artisans basically that means that I work with people in the field to implement flink in their organizations and make sure they're successful sure yeah I've been a JVM developer for a lot of years and I think I started to use Scala in earnest when I came to Twitter so i worked at twitter for a while and twitter is big into scala as everyone knows so yeah that's where I really got into it that's a good point I don't do a ton of development these days like every day day in and day out but I do work on stream processing systems and I do work with Apache flink every day so in terms of stack links usually the core of what I'm doing and yeah in and on the language side if link has a nice Scala API that's how I program in flank most the time so the stack looks like Scala as a language flink as a stream processing engine often i'm working with Kafka as a source maybe elasticsearch or again Kafka or Cassandra as a sink May sews on the bottom may so sorry yarn yeah I didn't really get to participate that much in the conference because I basically was able to get here for the talk so I think the best thing in a conference like this for me is just being able to catch up with everyone and kind of like you know meet up with old friends talk about what we're all working on like learn from each other in that sort of informal way like in the hall out there while we're grabbing snacks or in between talks so that's really what I enjoy most about a conference like this [Music]
