you my name is Greg file I work for a slam data in boulder colorado and i'm a software engineer working on compilers [Music] so about probably two and a half years ago I I talked to my current employer at the time I was doing a doing haskell work and and so he had an interesting compiler job that sounded cool and I'd never done Scala before but he got me into it feel like it was kind of a different than the usual way to come in because I learned scholars II and the functional sort of parts of the Scala ecosystem immediately and I'm still very unfamiliar with with large swathes of you know a lot of libraries that people commonly use but but yeah it's been really interesting there's been a lot of cool people in the space and been a lot of fun yeah so as far as skull is concerned I feel like I get to work in my ideal stack we use basically any type level you know branded library we can get our hands on which is I mean there's apparently 50 of them now according to Myles talked yesterday and and it's just a great there's a lot of good code that people are happy to you know work on and improve and it's been it's been a pleasure to work with all that stuff so I feel like it's my ideal stack is pretty close to what I use every day it's pretty great there are two talks that I thought were particularly great from my perspective one was adelbert Chang's talk on higher kind of types which is something I use a lot but he just you know explain things in this I felt very clear way and his his live coding which is something I feel often falls flat his live coding it was very smooth and I just thought he had a very good approach there and another talk was on the join calculus which is something I'd use in the past although not for years and it was nice to see this very nice thing kind of come up in an unexpected place like this [Music] you
