alright my name is Dan Simon I'm a staff engineer at tumblr in New York I first got into Scala at my previous company we are doing everything in PHP and we were just kind of looking for something that could perform a bit better and also had like a nicer type system and everything like that so we just kind of started with it and then I moved to tumblr where we're doing scala now all the time so I'd say the ideal stack is pretty close to where we're at actually so we're using obviously Colossus the framework I developed for doing our services and that works with akka and it works on the backend with things like memcache in my sequel and things like that so I think in terms of like what tech I wish would be using I think we're pretty close to using everything that I would want Oh looking forward to I'm not sure I mean I've seen a bunch of other talks talking about micro services so I think in general I'm very interested to learn about how everyone else is doing this how everyone else is solving this problem I've already seen a few today and yesterday and I think there's a couple more than looking at but just in general focusing on how everyone is doing micro services you
