you my name is a relief that I'm working in the cloud and information services group in Microsoft and my role is a scientist [Music] so basically we're working on a system called Twitter here is an open source system I used for streaming applications so I'm more involved in the infrastructure part of the system but we have people submitting applications written in Scala on Twitter here and we need to be able to efficiently support those applications so my role is more and infrastructure side of the system and also much on the API but that's how it is connected to scowl yeah so my ideal stack is one that basically has a clear division between the functionality of the components that's actually sort of my actual stack right now in Microsoft which is really good so we have the operating system and file system on top of that we have scheduled frameworks that performs Justin functionality of allocating resources we have systems that have modules again here on is one of them so it has clear separation between the modules and then we have applications on top of that so pretty much that's the ideal start for me and componentized modular stack so I was very interested in the streaming talks because i'm working on streaming so there are some Kafka talks that i was very interested to hear to hear about and obviously our talk is related with also we were all in the same session and they were pretty interesting stuff you
