[Music] Zack test j'en title is sort of product management data visualization research and interaction design at General Electric digital well I think it's a chance to meet new people and people that share similar interests it's always exciting to meet people that share these kinds of interests because they're a little bit esoteric and you don't run to people every day that that share these these interests well I think this is the the next wave of the Industrial Revolution in a lot of ways and at GE that's that's kind of the company's collected viewpoint as well which is why I'm working there but i think that the combination of data and the industrial internet being industrial iot applications is really going to change the way the very fabric of our society and the way that we think about technology in the future so i'm excited to get on board kind of out of the gate at the beginning of the revolution so to speak well I think there's judging by the schedule there's kind of a consensus growing at least by the names of the talks around the need to understand data before integrating it into design work or interaction people i think are coming to the conclusion that our skillset as designers in terms of building infographics is not really sufficient to to work with big data and to integrate machine learning applications into data visualization and other data interactions so I think that that's kind of my big takeaway from my presentation and it's certainly something I'm seeing in other presentations as well [Music] well I'm not one so I can't give good advice on that but i think that there's loads of resources out there like Coursera and Udacity and other tools for learning for free I think as somebody coming from a design background my biggest advice is don't be afraid you know it's it's scary to come from an arts background start working with serious mathematics and statistics and things like that but you know it's it's something I'm passionate about and that passion is really driven me forward on my own path to kind of learn these things just as my on my own because I find them so interesting so so don't be afraid and go out there and you know get into it [Music]
