hi my name is Slovakia chat I'm the CEO of a company called rethink gb I'm very excited because there's a lot of there are a lot of very interesting things happening in the world of web development and the way we're building apps is changing very rapidly things are gonna get a lot easier a lot faster and applications that people are building are going to get a lot more exciting and I'm just excited to be here and share but we're working on with people just general trends and get people excited about what's happening because I think the world is going to get a lot more interesting real soon because we generated all the time and we finally have the sensors in the storage capacity and the connectivity to collect that processes and analyze it and do all of that in real time and it's very very exciting because who knows what kind of applications people are going to build and what kind of advantages we're going to get out of it we don't know but that possibility the opportunity for innovation is very exciting because it's pretty clear to everyone that we're going to get and we're already getting many many many exciting things so it's just very interesting to me working in the data space and seeing what some of the people are building and what they're going to continue to build you know where how it's changing the world and where the world is going and how it's hopefully going to improve everybody's life I remain inside everything gb is that the world is really moving in the direction of real time so you know a year ago three years ago five years ago everything was pretty static so when you go to a website or you open a nap before it used to be that you see a snapshot of what's going on and then if you want to see changes you can have to refresh the app or refresh the website it was really cool but but it's um it's kind of a static not a very engaging way to interact with the world and what's happening now in the last year or two is that everything has been becoming very much real time so when you look at a nap things are changing and you're seeing what happened not a minute ago or an hour ago you're seeing what's happening right now in the moment and that's a really exciting inside because the way we're building apps for engaging experiences is changing the infrastructure is underneath like the software infrastructure is to make that possible I'm are changing and all these changes are catalyzing new applications and new ways for people to interact with data that we haven't seen before and if i were to boil everything down to one thing i'd suggest people to look at the potential of real-time data is what it means for their users their customers becoming a data scientist is relatively easy because the bar has been lowered significantly like you don't need a PhD anymore you just need a laptop and an internet connection and then there are plenty of tutorials and libraries for really anybody to get started and start playing with data and start getting insights you know start learning start doing interesting things so becoming a data scientist I think it's like playing music like if you've never played before you just have to get yourself a cheap keyboard and you know look up a tutorial online and you can't become a great musician but you can learn to play songs now becoming a great data scientist that's harder because you need a lot of theory and background that you can't really easily just get by reading things online and by tinkering so you really need to get more traditional resources you have to learn some statistics you have to learn some linear algebra and math you have to learn a lot of the things that the internet is generally not good at teaching so to become a great data scientist i would encourage people you know it's concerted effort and it's probably years of concerted effort so you really need to buy the books and read them and go through the exercises and you can do it yourself but it is a lot of effort you
