so I'm Sal or yourself I am a data engineer sometimes call it data werewolf add GoFundMe formerly of Salesforce and LinkedIn I'm gonna go say that it's the people that you meet so there's a lot of interesting talks and insights but I think specifically the people here they're the ones that are most passionate about their careers and most passionate about data so meaning these random individuals from companies that I may have heard of may have not heard of and products and they are not heard of and seeing why they're passionate about this products and what's cool about what they're doing in there in a particular roles ah so I didn't data itself is not super cool it's like a hairy thing you have to parse but the insights that you got our and the products that you build can be really really fun so i'm i'm currently a GoFundMe and we're looking at donation data so this is like a completely untapped data source so you're like up till now like donations have been like people getting harassed on the streets rights but now we're actually like on the web and we're gathering this we can see inside who donates more who donates less what kind of causes these people like and I think these are the kind of insights that just make me really passionate so I want to show how easy it is to ingest additional data for your data application and a lot of this boils down to the fact that if you increase the breadth of your data if you decorate your data with third-party insights this can actually give you this like big boost that most people don't even think about so you had some data from wikipedia from a third-party financial api from twitter and this is i think especially it's a it's not the bellows hanging fruit but it's pretty low hanging fruit that is underutilized across the data industry so a lot of people get into the data science world for various reasons money fame glory all that kind of stuff but i think what what really makes you kind of a data scientist is the first time you see a really interesting insight in your data so it's like that first click i'm like it could be it could be economics data it could be it could just be add data that you're looking at but you make this one connection like this causes of this or if this works with this and for actually the better this is why something is and i think that's what makes you a great day designs is you actually get excited about something really really cool that you see in the data and everything else is just the job
