sure my name is parag name joshi and i am a principal engineer at work day it's meeting a lot of smart people and hearing them talk about really cool topics there's a talk from google about bigquery that was very interesting in the initial talk with my jay was also very interesting i think there are a lot of really good speakers so interacting with them is a really great experience and of course just great to interact with the community which is probably the one of the best in the world data is the feature so in in particular for work day work there has been a transaction company for last 10 years and right from co downwards everybody recognizes that the future of the company is the data and how do we utilize all these transactions that we have stored how can we leverage the amusing AI and provide maximum value to our customers so think that's the most exciting thing that everybody understands now that transactions and many of the thing many other things that made this company successful till today are going to become commodities what is good what is going to make this company stand out from others is how they utilize the data and I think that's why the data is so cool from them from my talk I guess the important lesson is that you need to know what is the validation methodologically use especially for predictive classification problems it's very easy to use the wrong methodology and get misleading results and going production it's really crucial that we you get the validation into nology right everything else will follow learn a lot of probability and statistics especially for people who come from ml and CS background some of them have weaknesses in probability and statistics we need to learn and overcome those obstacles to become good data scientists and then to become great user to practice and practice and practice you
