so my name is Kyle Haley and my company's deltax and my title there is Technical Evangelist well being a speaker here it gives me excuse to get a work income and I decide love being around data visualization so there's a lot of data science stuff here but the data visualizations what I'm really excited about well the cool thing for me is like the tools that are available now I mean I started 25 years ago at Oracle one like there was no visualization tools and and now I mean they started to build him up there I mean TCL came out in the 90s TK which was you know but it's been blown away now with the web and like JavaScript and some of the JavaScript libraries like highcharts rd3 and like it just opens the door wider doing all sort of visualizations that I've always specially interactive that I've always wanted to do and you couldn't do historically let's this sort of i'm going to talk about yeah because i I'm gonna I'll bring in like textural reports in the meetings i'm able to form this guy so i hears you know here's the line in the port here's the problem and you fix that problem with this action and the eyes just glaze over and they just keep arguing and i bring in a nice pretty chart you know at some bars and like see this high bar that's the problem oh yeah that's a problem and then everybody gets on board it's crazy it's the big thing i want is um is required to have domain expert when people make domain expertise when people make visualization so what i see over and over in the industry right now especially cuz my world performance so people just throw a bunch of line charge so a company will say oh we need a new dashboard okay Joe you're you know how to do javascript or something go make a dashboard and Joe doesn't it's not a performance person so he goes and asks the engineers what about which I a cart and they're like oh this stat mats at that stuff ok throws up dashboard a bunch of different charts all different lines but there's no there's no really intelligence in the interface there's no the new methodology so what I want people do is don't just throw a bunch of line charts it's going to end don't just throw any ole developer spine but have somebody who's in the trenches are actually like a customer or especially a lot of time with what are you trying to solve you can guide that developer and make an interface that actually shows the correlations and shows the output that that you're trying to achieve I think people leave it up to the user like this just throw up all the data and let the user decide how to fix problem that's not what industry wants now we're doing consumerization of software we want an interface that here here's the problem immediately without having you make the user work I want I want the software work say I want my life to be easy right you
