Greg Ron director of product management is sniffly computing I always find it an interesting to converse with people on the share ideas data processing and data analysis there are a lot of people who have different and various experiences and it's always nice to share my ideas with them as well as hear what they have to offer I think data is cool because it's powerful and it drives business decisions I've kind of used the phrase data-driven decision making for a while I think that you know you look around the marketplace and you'll see commonly used phrases like a data drives technology or data-driven decisions or you know more data is better than better algorithms etc so there's definitely some power behind having good data the main insight that I was hoping to convey in my talk today was that Jason is a very popular data format or self-defining data if you will and there are numerous tools out there to operate on these types of data but there are trade-offs with all of them and just to kind of go over a little bit of the lay of the land and what the pros and cons to each of them are how to become a data scientist and then a great one I'd probably say to become a data scientists one needs curiosity I think that that an ambition more than anything can drive you to investigate and interrogate different data sets to find things that may not have been obvious and to be a great one I would say surround yourself with a great team and great friends and great people network and find out what other people are doing and learn from others and share your thoughts as well
