my name is Daniel door I work for a credit karma I'm a manager of the data science team well it was really cool being here because there was some really great speakers had some really interesting problems they were solving it was also kind of interesting getting some feedback from the audience on you know the problem i was presenting and how i was thinking about it a lot of good things i can incorporate in my day to day two i actually think like big data is in this spot where we're kind of in a wild wild west where people can just go out and you don't necessarily have to have formal training but you can go and learn on the job you can go to the boot camp and you can actually just become part of the community doing that and so I think it actually creates a lot of opportunity for lots of people to get into it it reminds me of you know like automotive industry and other sorts of things were you know hundreds of you know as the last few hundred years went by yeah i think if if people could take one thing from from my talk I think you know I think it's that you know we as the big data community have a really interesting opportunity to make sure that or you know interesting opportunity to help people actually benefit from the interactions with our products especially when you consider that you know right now a lot of interactions are driven by big data but five ten years from now almost every interaction will be driven from Big Data you know I think if we can start thinking about how we can measure and include user benefit into the types of decisions we're making you know everybody will be better off yeah well if you're trying to get into the field in the first place I think the best thing you can do is start with like a Kegel competition there's lots of people that have you know that are willing to share and help you be good in about the time you get good enough that they stop giving you advice and you probably know enough that you can you know keep learning yourself you know but I think that's you know that's one of the things that'll really help you know that along with some of the other paid courses that people can take but I think that's the best free resource
