[Music] so actually usually your phone of my work is machine learning because artificial intelligence is such an overloaded tum a lot of the time people aren't actually doing anything too complex it's more of a marketing and sales tactic than anything else I think where at least my specific work in deep blowing really kind of takes the cake is envisioned because extracting complex visual features is really difficult for humans to do but when you kind of give that power to computo its able to learn to pull those things out by itself I guess my key focus when it comes to machine learning is how to best kind of utilize memory and attention how we can get these models to do more and more complex tasks involving more and more complex reasoning and there's kind of this far out goal that one day we also don't need to retrain each and every model depending on which task it ends up facing we should really be able to get a single machine learning model that's able to get better and better over time I think my favorite thing about the by the bay conference is the mix of people it's all a set of tremendous people and they come from so many different backgrounds and I can basically be guaranteed to run into an interesting conversation no matter where I'll end up being you
