you [Music] you well I have my definition of a i i i think when we have conversations with people and we mentioned the words ai ai conjures up images of you know freaky robots jumping around or self-driving cars at best I think Mike definition is very different I think if we will look at the history of business performance for example in the last five years only 13 companies have managed to outperform sp500 consistently every year and all of those companies have one thing in common they were able to garner shin intelligence to in to apply the findings the the insights other data into improving their interaction with the customers into putting out the better products out in the market place you know providing a more innovative solutions to me that's that's the way I think of AI I think this is augmented intelligence where the machines are helping us deal with an incredible amount of data which has become sort of a rocket fuel for our decision-making and it's just applying that towards the better business outcomes I think I think where the success of AI has been the most demonstrated is with the players and the companies who have enough skill who have enough knowledge and a you know an understanding of what the potential that the technology has and you know we've seen this I mean we're here in Silicon Valley in San Francisco it's we've seen a lot of really good applications of AI where I think it's failing is actually not in the technology itself at all it's it's an our inability to make it simple and to make it accessible and available to everyone and and I think that really is the failure is the technology has kind of run way ahead of what the human ability or general ability to leverage that technology has been and so forth to really look for opportunities to to get take full advantage of a I I think that's really where it is it's to helping helping people everybody gain the benefit of of the technology again benefit even an understanding of what it is able to provide yeah I'm actually not a data scientist I'm not an nai a specialist per se I my focus really is a you know and it kind of made this my mission is to help people adapt the technology to help people embrace the technology and so with two dead end an IBM for example we created something called big data University which allows anybody regardless of skill budget or location to start learning this you know it's an online property everything's free those are there iBM has been a great generous sponsor of this and now we're getting other members of the community people at this conference for example to help us out with that and to spread the to spread the knowledge and understanding but that's what keeps me up and excited and going forward I was actually not prepared to see what I saw today I am absolutely blown away by the caliber of people and the speakers as well as the attendees who are here and and it there are many AI conferences out there it's a popular topic obviously it's popular you know anything that's that hot it gets a lot of people talking but there's a difference in depth and understanding and is almost a spirit in here in here everything is practical and I and I think that cannot be overemphasized you know there's I'm seeing every every talk that I've seen so far is by people who are practitioners in the field everything they're showing is a demo bowl it is not generic platitudes and discussions of a Latino some abstract topics that I see in many other conferences this is this is a practical conference to teach people practical skills by people who are practitioners in the field you [Music] you
