you [Music] you ai is a pretty big field to me it really means creating systems that behave like people that really have intelligence but it has a broader meaning of that and in my industry in particular AI is used to help us process data for autonomous vehicles for us to look for anomalies for us to do compression for us to basically manage the framework that makes a really complex task like self-driving cars possible I think AI is very successful raising money right now I think that AI is successful at solving discrete problems and finding computationally efficient ways of doing things at five or ten years ago we didn't know how to do I think in order for it to really grow and become more valuable to us we have to think about it a little bit on a systemic way we have to figure out how to have lots of different pieces of AI collaborate on more complex problems in my field self-driving vehicles very complex and it's not going to be one AI but it's going to be dozens of different individual pieces of AI code that make it possible my company plays two roles in the eye I space the first is we develop our own internal machine learning systems to help us manage our platform and that's important because there's a lot of data that we move and it's not feasible for humans to understand at all we move gigabytes of data per hour per car so it's a huge challenge but more importantly we collaborate with a lot of other companies that are doing a is in sensors and networks in actuators and we're bringing those together to try and solve the higher level challenge of moving people from point to point as efficiently and as cost-effectively as we possibly can I think it's great that there's a focus on AI and bringing people together from lots of different disciplines I'm looking forward to meeting up with people this evening and finding out what they're working on whether or not the possibility to collaborate but also just to be inspired by some of the tough problems people are tackling today nai [Music] you
