Details

We're running a joint meetup with OpenLate, an OpenDNS night! (https://www.meetup.com/OpenLate/events/219866467/)

Jeremiah O'Connnor, a researcher at OpenDNS, is presenting about "The Language of Evil: Hunting Malicious Domains with Natural Language Processing in Network Traffic."

Domain squatting on legitimate brand names such as Google, Adobe, Java, and Paypal is a common tactic used by a wide array of adversaries, from mass phishing campaigns to spamming to C2 domains in APT attacks. In this talk, we present NLP-Rank, a generic detection model we have developed at OpenDNS Labs that utilizes NLP/Text processing techniques to identify malicious behavior in network traffic.
