Put Java on a diet - writing Scala without the boilerplate

Java developers are really good at generating new Singletons, Beans and Anonymous Classes but in the end this is all boilerplate code. In this introduction to Scala development targeted mainly at current Java developers (but open to everyone) we'll review how Scala lets developers bypass all the boilerplate and go straight to writing core business logic. A short intro to Scala and its syntax will be included, as well as a a full Question and Answer session for anyone wanting to (or already in) dive into Scala development.
